My Second stereo, Sony STR-AV 570Xby cleaverb |

The AV-570 is a 1991 model with 60 watts RMS per channel, at 8 ohm from 40Hz to 20KHz with .8% THD. The FM tuner on this receiver was great, as I listened to FM stations 60 miles away. The receiver also featured the new DBFB (Dynamic Bass Feed Back) loudness feature was amazing. I bought this for $99.00 without a remote, but my TVs' universal remote worked it fine. Seeing as how my receiver was black,I was trying to match up the colors of my components. My next purchase was a Sony CDP-491 CD player. This for $30, at the same store . The date on the back is 1991. Surprising to me, a few years later I discovered that this deck does play CD-Rs. Although this player would skip at the slightest bump, it was by far my favorite player. Later on, I added a Sony TC-W31 dual cassette deck to complete the all black look. It's a cheap tape deck, but I had pretty much worn out the record heads on my Akai. And to finish out my stereo, I bought a new, Optimus Ten Band Stereo Equalizer. These were on close-out at Radio Shack for $99 at the time. Mine featured the multi-colored display, and the new model had all blue display. My problem was, the Sony didn't have a tape monitor function to connect the EQ to. So, I ran my CD and tape deck into the equalizer. and then into the receiver. Continue on to my third stereo .....HK 330i Return to the Top of the Page Close |
