![]() Microsoft MS-DOS 6.22 Welcome to the MS-DOS page.Yes, it sounds like a relic from the Pleiostine age, but there is a web browser for DOS, named GPL Arachne for DOS . Well, DOS 6.22 was the last version that was sold as an independent operating system, back in June 1994. However, DOS lived on inside the Windows operating systems up to DOS version 8.0 in Windows Millenium. A surprise can be found in Windows XP, if you have an "A" drive.Put a disk in your floppy drive,right click the drive letter, and select "Format..." . And down at the bottom, "Create an MSDOS startup disk" appears. It's said to be in Vista also! But what we wanted to demonstrate on this page, are screenshots of installing dos -

![]() System Requirements: 512K of conventional memory, A floppy drive,and About 3.5 MB of free disk space for all the support files.
